In December 2019 and January 2020 fieldwork started at the site in Tarsus in southeast Turkey. The monitoring well in Kazanlı will be used for the installation of the online multi-parameter sensor for real-time monitoring of electrical conductivity (EC), pH, redox potential (Eh in mV), dissolved oxygen, and water level. The well is 30 m deep and water level has been measured at 3.93 m. The electrical conductivity of groundwater is 1,900 micro Siemens/cm indicating slightly increased salinity at this site. An additional monitoring well in Adanalıoğlu will be used for installation of the online multi-parameter sensor for real-time monitoring of electrical conductivity (EC), pH, Eh, dissolved oxygen, and water level. This well has a total depth of 99 m and a depth to water of 5.90 m. The electrical conductivity (EC) is similar also indicating above average salinity and mixing with saline groundwater at this site.
